Embracing nostalgia and heritage, we embarked on a journey to craft Kowbird's distinctive locket. Delving into Oakland's rich tapestry of stories, we wove together a captivating narrative that adorns the walls of Kowbird. Drawing inspiration from the iconography beloved by Michelin chef Matt Horn during his formative years, our aim was to honor the spirit of Morning Bird and the cherished memories it embodies – from the farms to the people, traditions, and boundless passion. Building upon the established logo, our approach was deeply personal. We delved into Matt's family history, unearthed generational recipes, and explored the cultural mosaic of West Oakland and historic Perala Street, the home of the restaurant.
